Tenuta Trinoro Rosso di Toscana IGT 2013

The 2013 Tenuta di Trinoro Rosso Toscana IGT is an iconic red wine of extraordinary intensity, created by Andrea Franchetti on his estate in the Val d'Orcia, on the border between Tuscany and Lazio. Considered one of the finest Super Tuscans, it is made from a Bordeaux blend grown in high-altitude vineyards, with extremely low yields and an obsessive attention to quality.

The 2013 vintage, fresh and balanced, has produced a deep and complex red. In the glass, it displays a deep, dense ruby color. On the nose, it releases rich and layered aromas: blackcurrant, blackberry, ripe plum, oriental spices, tobacco, graphite, and light balsamic notes. On the palate, it is majestic, with an imposing structure, velvety tannins, well-integrated freshness, and a very long, elegant, and minerally finish.

The 2013 Trinoro is a meditation wine, designed for long cellar aging. It pairs magnificently with game, roasts, braised meats, and aged cheeses, but above all, it's an experience to be enjoyed in its own right, like one of the greatest contemporary Italian reds.
