Chateau Sauternes Suduiraut Premier Cru Classé en 1855 2014

The 2014 Château Suduiraut Sauternes Premier Cru Classé is one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated sweet wines, recognized as a Premier Cru Classé in the historic 1855 classification. The estate, located in Preignac, on the border with Barsac, boasts vineyards ideal for the development of Botrytis Cinerea (noble rot), which gives the grapes unique concentration and complexity.

This Sauternes is made from a classic blend of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, carefully hand-picked over multiple visits to the vineyard. The 2014 vintage yielded a balanced and refined wine. It appears a brilliant gold in the glass. On the nose, it releases intense aromas of dried apricot, candied orange peel, acacia honey, saffron, and toasted notes. On the palate, it is velvety and complex, with sweetness balanced by vibrant acidity and a very long, mineral finish.

The 2014 Sauternes Château Suduiraut is a meditation wine and a wonderful pairing: perfect with foie gras, blue cheeses, fruit tarts, pastries, and spicy Asian cuisine. A masterpiece that perfectly expresses the excellence of the Sauternes terroir.
